Dr. Schmidt is amazing! From the moment I walked in the office doors a year and a half ago she was so helpful, knowledgeable, thoughtful, and skillful. She did a great deal of research and connected with peers to consult on my case. When I was diagnosed with Lyme 6 weeks before my procedure, Dr. Schmidt left no stone unturned when it came to ensuring that I would be safe.

Dr. Schmidt kept me informed and treated me with respect and dignity through the entire process (as did the staff!). It was clear that she wasn’t there just to collect a paycheck and I always felt empowered to make decisions about my health care because of her approach. This is one of the most important elements of medical care and Dr. Schmidt is at the top of her class.

I ended up having a second surgery and she was just as kind and skillful with a frustrating situation. She was invested in me as a person and I so appreciated that. As a woman of color, I was impressed that Dr. Schmidt talked about care for patients with more melanin. She navigated the conversations with grace and professionalism and I deeply appreciate her willingness and capacity to do so. It makes a difference.

The staff at both Mountain Lake Plastic Surgery and Green Mountain Surgery Center are outstanding, too. Everyone treated me so well and it felt like I was among friends at every appointment. The use of humor to connect and ease my nerves was appreciated too.
